See, there’s Obama in the Taksim metro station. It’s time for this blog to wake up. The world is moving quick, as usual: the G-20 summit finished with mixed reviews, another mass shooting in the ol’ States, Hungary’s government is collapsing, so is it’s currency – the global financial crisis in full throttle. Meanwhile, spring is here and the sun is finally shining.
So where have I been? Why haven’t I been writing? Let’s contextualize that. I have three poor excuses for reasons:
1. I had so many ideas on what to blog about that I was paralyzed with excitement. Ha.
2. I was applying to phd programs. And scholarships.
3. I hadn’t written for so long that I was scared of writing, knowing it better be something goooooddddd. So I started to tweet instead. Find me, follow me. I also updated my website to show off my most recent story on bicycling in Istanbul.
I’ll be back on this gig more regularly now, now that I’ve broken the ice again. And I’m headed to Vegas soon, my first time. A little apprehensive, all that glitz, gamble, alcohol and sex.
More soon.
XOXO
Monika
